Charybdis Pot 1
Named after an Ancient Greek sea monster who may have based upon an actual whirlpool in the Strait of Messina, this white stone-ware pot has been hand-thrown and manipulated to capture the sea's dangerous, powerful beauty. A blue glaze with white float lines the pot and splashes onto a white matte, exterior glaze. I tend to fill these pots with grapes or clementines. Pot is hand thrown and manipulated to create the tricky folds in the clay. Astronaut remains with my son.
